Colaboración de Ana Sofía Gallardo y Diego Luna Milán (introduced by Molly Lou Freeman) On Wednesday, 8th June 2016, Sierra School students and teachers enjoyed a backcountry trip in Baja to visit traditional, rural potter, Doña Ramona. With Todos Santos Eco Adventures expert guides and naturalists, Mauricio and Allan, we travelled to Doña Ramona's remote ranch in the Las Matancitas region of the Sierra. We learned about her art, a craft as old as the Spanish Jesuit's conquest of Baja more than 300 years ago.

My school year has been amazing! Sebastian Miles Kar, 7th grade I couldn’t wish for any other school but this one because the teachers who work there have taught me so much. I will tell you some of the things I have learned at this school. In Math, I have learned almost a whole book of concepts like: Statistics, Transformations, Probability and more. Math at this school has been a wonderful experience for me. In English, I have read so many books I’ve never heard of before. Also I’ve learned how to write better poems and have learned more about poems. Also I’ve become a better writer too. Before I came to this school I wouldn’t write that much at all but now I write lot. In Ecology, I have learned a lot too. I had never even heard of Ecology before. But now I know what it is I really enjoy Ecology and I think it interesting subject to learn in school. In Spanish, I have learned so much about the basics in and about the Spanish language. I have gotten a lot better at comprehending and speaking the Spanish that I ever had before. When I go back to Washington State in 20 days I will have a giant head start in Spanish and will have an even bigger one, maybe. These are some of the classes I took this year at the Sierra School and I really enjoyed them all. I have made a big accomplishment in academics this year and I am so happy about that. This year has been an A++ year for me and I am going to miss everyone. I wish I could do another school year at the Sierra School again. |
