Personally, I'm super glad that we now have basketball as another PE activity. I love playing sports, and basketball is one of my favorites.I played basketball in my 4th and 6th grade years. Our team did well. At home, I have a basketball hoop with numerous balls of different sizes.
In Basketball, we have been working on the basic fundamentals like dribbling, shooting, passing, ball control and defense. In the first week, we mostly worked on ball control: we would carry the ball through our legs around the court and pass the ball from hand to hand around our hips with a little of the defensive position. The second week was a mix of both of dribbling and ball control, with a little bit of running sprints and shooting. Last week, we practiced jump shots in and out of the key, shooting from the 5 positions in the key and lay-ups.

This semester, we now benefit from basketball as one of our Physical Education activities. Taught by Margarita Robles and Marco Montaña, Basketball occurs once a week, every Wednesday morning from 7:30 to 9:00 at the auditorio in town.
I see basketball as one of those sports where when you get one thing down, like dribbling or shooting, it gets easier. I also think that basketball is one of the harder sports to learn and understand because of the speed of play. I also like basketball because there's not much contact compared to American football. I think basketball is good for hand and eye coordination and an excellent way to develop one’s mind doing sport.
