Every year, The Sierra School of Todos Santos, BCS, opens its doors to parents for an exciting, fun-filled day of learning called Glass Class. On this day, our parents spend a day taking our classes with us; in this way, they can have an authentic idea of what going to The Sierra School is like. We began the day with Yoga Class; there, we stretched and reviewed favorite postures together. After that, we did 360° shared drawing in art class. Following this, in English Literature, students shared thoughtful presentations sharing and analyzing the book we were reading: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Our journal question for the day was what we would teach our children if we were parents: I said that I would teach them how to be respectful, to share and to be helpful. In 7th Grade Math, we worked on a fraction activity, making a Tangram.

My favorite Glass Class class was art. We did a very fun activity with our parents. I enjoyed the activity because we were with our parents and took turns drawing them. It was really interesting to look at my mum and draw her. Later, for lunch, students and parents had brought all sorts of international food including pasta, quiche, pancakes and salad. Lunch was delicious and we all were happy to share a meal together.
