of Todos Santos

At the end of March 2017, Sierra school students and teachers went to Rancho San Dionisio, by Santiago, for our second and last camping trip of the year. We were guided by Rodger Herrera Tapia, and accompanied by Margarita Robles and Zephyr Calisto, Sierra school teachers. When we arrived the rancho, we got to know the ranch a bit better. It was an amazing ranch full of wonderful mango trees which provided lots of shade. Also, there are many hammocks, which we hung out in a lot. On the first day we went to a poza (pond) close by; about a 10 minute walk from our camp. We all swam in the cool water even though it was actually rather cold. When we got back we ate dinner; spaghetti and meatballs, and right after we told horror stories. The day was wonderful. All the students liked meeting Ricky, the son of the rancheros, and hanging out with my friends. Overall, the camping trip was incredible, we bonded as friends and as teammates, and I look forward to have this amazing friends again, in outdoor leadership.
Here are some comments from my classmates:
Renata : The ranch is a place with a lot of diversity, everything is green. The ranch is full of life. It's a place that not many people get to see. It's an interesting ranch with many stories to discover.
Emiliano: I had a lot of fun on our San Dionisio Outdoor Leadership Camping Trip. I liked swimming in the different lakes, and going hiking. I also liked spending time with my friends and look forward to our future expeditions at the Sierra School.
Sundury: The San Dionisio adventure was super interesting and enjoyable. It was a place in the middle of nature. I really appreciated camping in that place. I think we still have a lot of places to go explore; but I would like to return to San Dionisio again.
Bellamy:: I had lots of fun on the camping trip. San Dionisio is a beautiful place with lots of vegetation. The water in the lagoons is clean, and a perfect temperature for swimming. I would love to return again with my family. I love how the Sierra School expeditions inspire us to explore the Baja with our families.
Overall, the camping trip was amazing. All of us really enjoyed it. We all look forward to future expeditions. The camping trip left me with many memories of my friends, of the beautiful ranch, and of the amazing time we got to spend learning about the interesting aspects of the ranch lifestyle. This camping trip was by far one of the most amazing experiences I have ever got to experience with my friends and teachers. The camping trip was a wonderful learning experience in outdoor leadership. Thank you everyone. Thank you The Sierra School team!!
